Serbia says Vucic discuss with Putin new gas supplies deal

BELGRADE, Apr 6 (PRIME) -- Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic has discussed a new contract on Russian gas supplies during phone negotiations with his counterpart Vladimir Putin, the Serbian presidential administration said on Wednesday in a statement.

"Presidents Vucic and Putin acknowledged that the long-term gas supplies contract that Serbia had expires on May 31 this year, and negotiations about the price, volume and other terms of shipments to Serbia need to start as soon as possible," the statement read.

The presidents also confirmed their intent to develop strategic partnership and expand economic ties between the countries.

Vucic was re-elected as Serbia’s president on April 3.
